Our History

An ancient name, between stone walls and timeless hills

The origins of this estate date back to the 15th century, when it was listed among the Gonzaga estates in Volta Mantovana. From the 18th century onward, its history can be traced through historical documents: a thriving agricultural estate surrounded by olive trees, vineyards, mulberry trees, and woodland.

In the 20th century, the property extended over 15 hectares, enclosed by walls lined with caper plants and framed by olive groves. The estate included the main house, stables, barn, porticoes, and dovecote, all built with moraine cobblestones, wooden roofs, and ancient vaulted ceilings.

Today, the estate has been reborn, blending memory with vision: a place that preserves its rural soul while embracing the future with elegance and authenticity.

The Restoration

The restoration project was born from the desire to preserve the soul of the rural estate, giving it new life while respecting its history. Stone, lime, bricks, and reclaimed roof tiles create a sense of continuity with the past, while wood once again supports the attics and roofs, just as it once did.

Several recent and less harmonious additions were removed to restore a more authentic architectural balance. Sustainability and energy efficiency are now an essential part of the property’s renewal: modern heating and cooling systems, solar panels, and a photovoltaic installation ensure a responsible approach to energy use and environmental respect.

The courtyard spaces have been redesigned as areas for gathering and quiet contemplation: the central yard, gravel paths, lawns, and rows of cypress trees guide guests through the property, preserving the harmony between nature and architecture.

The former residence has been transformed into welcoming accommodations with bright mezzanines, while the old stables and barn now host the dining rooms, reception, and shared living spaces. The rural tower, once used as a dovecote, has become an intimate panoramic residence. Completing the experience, the wellness area with its indoor-outdoor pool offers a peaceful setting dedicated to relaxation and well-being.

Today, this property brings together past and present, where rural heritage meets contemporary comfort in a story shaped by stone, wood, and light.
